Answer:

I would say the bottom left = box 1, and bottom right= box 2.

Explanation:

The bottom left box is stating that he is taking what little knowledge he has of that route, to decide if he wants to go down that path or not.

The bottom right box is stating that he is glad that he had chosen to go down that path that was overgrown, because the destination was beautiful.
