Substitute for y in the second equation so x=2x +9, then subtract x from both sides so that 0=x+9, then subtract 9 from both sides and you get x= -9

How should 48 eggs be divided so that the ratio is 4:3:5
dolphi86 [110]
Do 4+3+5 which = 12
then do 48 divided by 12 which is 4
Now 4 x 4 = 16
3 x 4 = 12
5 x 4 = 20
16 + 12 + 20 = 48 so its divided as 16:12:20

Roll the number cube to find the observed frequency. Which statements are true? Check all that apply
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

(a) and (c)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

See attachment for complete question

Required

Select all true statements

First, calculate the total observed frequency;

Total = 11 + 16 + 14 + 20 + 12 + 17

Total = 90

<u>(a): Relative frequency of 4 is 2/9</u>

Relative frequency is calculated by:

RF= \frac{Observed\ Frequency}{Total}

For roll 4

Observed\ frequency = 20

So, the relative frequency is:

RF = \frac{20}{90}

Simplify

RF = \frac{2}{9}

<em>(a) is true</em>

<u>(b): Experimental probability of 3 greater than its theoretical probability</u>

The experimental probability is its relative frequency;

For roll 3

Observed\ frequency = 14

The experimental probability is:

Pr = \frac{14}{90}

Simplify

Pr = \frac{7}{45} = 0.156

To calculate  the theoretical probability, w have:

S = \{1,2,3,4,5,6\} ---- sample space

n(S)= 6

n(3) = 1 --- number of times 3 occur

The theoretical probability is:

Pr = \frac{1}{6} = 0.167

The theoretical probability is greater\ than\ the experimental probability.

<em>(b) is false</em>

<u>(c): Experimental probability of 2 greater than its theoretical probability</u>

Using the explanations in (b), we have:

For roll 2

Observed\ frequency = 16

The experimental probability is:

Pr = \frac{16}{90}

Simplify

Pr = \frac{8}{45} = 0.178

To calculate the theoretical probability, we have:

n(S)= 6

n(2) = 1

The theoretical probability is:

Pr = \frac{1}{6} = 0.167

The experimental probability is greater\ than\ the theoretical probability.

<em>(c) is true</em>

<u>(d): Relative frequency of 5 is 2/13</u>

For roll 5

Observed\ frequency = 12

The relative frequency is:

RF = \frac{12}{90}

Simplify

RF = \frac{2}{15}

<em>(d) is true</em>

what are the solution(s) to the quadratic equation 9x2 = 4? x = 4/9 and x = -4/9 x = 4/9 and x = -2/3 x = 3/2 and x = -3/2 no re
Kamila [148]
To solve for the quadratic equation 9x² = 4, we need to recall that the difference between two square can be expressed as the product of their sum and difference or (a² - b²) = (a + b)(a - b). Thus, we have 9x² = 4 9x² - 4 = 0 (3x)² - (2)² = 0 (3x + 2)(3x - 2) = 0 We now have two linear equations: 3x + 2 = 0 | 3x - 2 = 0 3x = -2 | 3x = 2 x = -2/3 | x = 2/3 Thus, x = +2/3 and -2/3.<span> </span>
