Answer:

The disaster response plans are now integrated and administred by FEMA.

Explanation:

Hurricane Katrina was a category 5 hurricane that struck the southern United States between August 23-31, 2005. Katrina caused devastating damage to New Orleans, Lousiana, flooding 80% of the city and causing at least 1,836 deaths. The hurricane caused 125 billion in damages and rendered the city uninhabitable for weeks. It is considered one of the worst natural disasters in the modern history of the United States.

The government failed to respond adequately to the hurricane. Local and state authorities were quickly overwhelmed, and they weren't adequately prepared or equipped to provide relief or mantain order to the population of New Orleans. As a result of a lack of coordination, federal forces, including the military, were several days late. In order to solve this, future disaster response plans drawn up by local and state authorities are now integrated and administered by FEMA, the Federal Emergency anagement Agency. It is considered that a centralized approach would mean a quicker and swifter response to future natural disasters.

What similarities does the Gupta empire and Chola empire have?
Vlad [161]

Answer:

To pay for their armies and other government projects, both empires collected a 25% tax on all agricultural earnings throughout their lands. Class structure was also similar in both empires.

Explanation:

Both empires were governed by a strong central bureaucracy that answered to the emperor. The large territories were further divided into provinces and districts with regional leaders and councils. Local leaders were given a lot of authority in order to streamline decision-making, but the emperors were still the ultimate authority. To pay for their armies and other government projects, both empires collected a 25% tax on all agricultural earnings throughout their lands.

How should we deal with collective responsibility for racism?
Yuki888 [10]
You think some more about what happened on your way home. You realize that your colleague is but one person; who knows how many other people out there think like her? It helps to change people's racial stereotypes and attitudes, but the only way real change can come about is if our institutions and systems implement policies that promote racial equality. You suddenly feel angry. What if redlining still goes on because real estate companies are filled with people who think like your colleague? What policies exist to stop such institutionalized prejudice?

Describe the difference between the legally required benefits and the discretionary benefits and provide two examples.
Sergio039 [100]
In order to understand the differences between these types of benefits, we should start by looking at the names of the types of benefits. The first type of benefit is legally required benefits. As their name implies, these are benefits that employers are required (by law) to provide for their employees. For example, all employers must provide contributions to their employees’ Social Security funds. They also have to provide workers’ compensation premiums for their workers.

Answer:

Costs go down

Explanation:

In Microeconomics, economies of scale can be defined as cost reductions or cost advantages that arises when a business entity is increases its production or are large in size.

This ultimately implies that, when an organization chooses a convenient scale of operation or reduce its scale of production, this would lead to a reduction in the cost of production and consequently, some benefits such as lower long-run average cost, increased sales, profits and lower cost price for the consumers of these finished products.

Furthermore, economies of scale is evident when employees are able to specialize in a specific task. This is so because having a good number of professionals and experts would increase the level of production or output, as they are quite conversant with the best method of production, time management and efficiency.

Average Total Cost (ATC) can be defined as the overall cost of production divided by total output of production. It is calculated by dividing total cost by total output of production or by adding TVC and TFC.

ATC = TVC + TFC

Generally, the shape of the average total cost (ATC) for a firm experiencing economies of scale is horizontal and downward sloping.

This ultimately implies that, for the average total cost curve of a firm with economies of scale, the costs go down as output increases.
