The history of the ocean floor is important because it can be a tell tale sign of how the plate tectonics are moving. It can show how new the ocean floor through subduction. Divergent and convergent plate boundaries on the ocean floor (which can create trenches and mid ocean-ridges) also show if the plates are pulling apart or coming together along the ocean floor.

Which of these Earth spheres interacts with coral reefs to cause coral bleaching? Atmosphere Cryosphere Geosphere Hydrosphere
MakcuM [25]

Answer:

The correct option is D) Hydrosphere

Explanation:

The corals present int he hydrosphere interact with the algae through a endosymbiotic relationship. This endosymbiotic relationship helps to maintain the health of the corals and the reefs. However, at a certain time, the coral reefs might expel the algae living inside it. This phenomenon is termed as coral bleaching. The corals generally expel the algae when they are under stress situations such as changes in temperature or availability of nutrients.

Surprisingly, whales have hind limbs (leg bones) that they do not use, but that are thought to be left over from an earlier ance
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

Vestigial organs

Explanation:

Vestigial organs/ structures are those parts of the body that have become redundant, weakened, or useless to the body as a result of prolonged inactiveness.

According to Charles Darwin's theory of evolution, he explains that parts of the body that are not used quite often do not develop any further, and as generations of offspring come and go, such parts become useless to the organism. This is the law of use/misuse of parts.

This is what happened to the whales. Over the years, the whales must have discovered that the legs were useless to them as they spent most of their time in the water. This led to the degeneration of such body part over thousands of generations, leaving them with just a faint trace of the hind limbs which were observed

What are the differences in the dynamics of microtubules and actin filaments?
masya89 [10]

Answer:

Microtubules, like actin filaments, are dynamic structures: they can grow and shrink quickly by the addition or removal of tubulin proteins. Also similar to actin filaments, microtubules have directionality, meaning that they have two ends that are structurally different from one another. I hope this helps :)
