First find the slope of the line segment joining <span>(4,-2) and (9,-8).  It is:
        -8+2       -6
m = -------- = ------
          9-4         5

Using slope-intercept form,   y = mx + b:

                                              -8 = (-6/5)(9) + b, or -8 = -54/9 + b.

Then b must be -8 = -54/9 + b.  Solve for b:

-72    54        -18
----- - ----- = -------- = -2.  Then y = mx + b becomes y = (-6/5)x - 2 (slope-
   9      9           9              intercept form).

Point-slope form is y-k = m(x-h), where (h,k) is a point on the line.

Then   y - (-8) = (-6/5)(x-9).  This is in point-slope form.

Answer:

This is not a right triangle because the hypotenuse is less than the two sides and aren't equal when following the Pythagorean thm

Step-by-step explanation:

To confirm if a triangle is a right triangle, we must use the Pythagorean thm

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

23^2 + 11.4^2 = 21.2^2

529 + 129.96 = 449.44

658.96 ≠ 449.44

Find the surface area of a cylinder with a height of 8 ft and a base radius of 5 ft.
Maksim231197 [3]

Answer: 408.2 ft^2

Step-by-step explanation:

A=2πrh+2πr2

A=2(3.14)(5)(8)+2(3.14)(5)^2

A=6.28*40+6.28*25
A=251.2+157

A=408.2 ft^2
