NEED HELP !! Substitution method. The system of equations : y= 35 + 5x , y=100 - 8x . In how many minutes will the tanks contain

the same amount of water ?

We can substitute the expression for y from the first equation into the second equation, which just means setting the two equations to be equal:

35 + 5x = 100 - 8x

5x + 8x = 100 - 35

13 x = 65

x = 5

That's 5 minutes presumably, at which time each tank has 35+5(5)=60 units of water.

Which expression is equal to the example?
Aloiza [94]

1-(cosx)^4 value is 2sin^4-sin^4x . Correct option is D) 2sin^4-sin^4x .

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have , expression to evaluate:

1-(cosx)^4

⇒ 1-((cosx)^2)^2

⇒ 1-(1-(sinx)^2)^2

We know that , sin^2x = 1-cos^2x , putting value in equation 1-(1-(sinx)^2)^2

⇒ 1-(1+sin^4x-2sin^4)

⇒ 1-1-sin^4x+2sin^4

⇒ -sin^4x+2sin^4

⇒ 2sin^4-sin^4x

Therefore , 1-(cosx)^4 value is 2sin^4-sin^4x . Correct option is D) 2sin^4-sin^4x

Writw the equation of the line that passes through the points (-6,-19) and ( 2,5)
notsponge [240]

Answer:

y = 3x - 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's start with the two points.

y = mx + b

-19 = -6m + b

5 = 2m + b

Subtract the first from the second.

24 = 8m

m = 3

5 = 2*3 + b

b = -1
