Answer:

  C.  red (0,5); green (0,0), (0,-9)

Step-by-step explanation:

The y-axis is found where x=0. So, the (x, y) coordinates of any y-intercept are

  (0, y-value)

Knowing this lets you ignore answer choices A and B.

__

The points where the curves cross the y-axis are conveniently marked with their values (except for y=0) ...

  red: y=5

  green: y=0, y=-9

Filling these numbers into the above form gives ...

  • red: (0, 5)
  • green: (0, 0), (0, -9) . . . . . . matches choice C

show that thw roots of the equation (x-a)(x_b)=k^2 are always real if a,b and k are real. Please I really need help with this
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Check the value of the discriminant

Δ = b² - 4ac

• If b² - 4ac > 0 then roots are real

• If b² - 4ac = 0 roots are real and equal

• If b² - 4ac < 0 then roots are not real

given (x - a)(x - b) = k² ( expand factors )

x² - bx - ax - k² = 0 ( in standard form )

x² + x(- a - b) - k² = 0

with a = 1, b = (- a - b), c = -k²

b² - 4ac = (- a - b)² + 4k²

For a, b, k ∈ R then (- a - b)² ≥ 0 and 4k² ≥ 0

Hence roots of the equation are always real for a, b, k ∈ R

What is the measure of ∠S ?
jeka94

Alright, lets get started.

We could use sine law to find the remaining angle.

\frac{sinA}{a} =  \frac{sinB}{b}

\frac{sinS}{63.6}  = \frac{sin64}{69.8}

Plugging the value of sin 64

\frac{sinS}{63.6} =  \frac{0.8987}{69.8}

\frac{sinS}{63.6} = 0.01287

Cross multiplying

sin S = 0.8189

Taking inverse on both side

S = sin^{-1}(0.8189)

S = 55° : Answer

Hope it will help :)

Choose the best definition for the following phrase: combining like terms (1 point)
Maksim231197 [3]

combining like terms in a polynomial is adding or subtracting together terms that have the same degree in the exponents.

example. 3x^3 + 5x^6 + 2x^3 +7x + 9x^6

= 7x + 5x^3 + 14x^6

PLZ HELP I SUCK AT MATH :( JUST LIKE MY USERNAME SAYS :(
Citrus2011 [14]

Answer:

Option C and Option D have exactly one solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation will have exactly one solution when it completely solves and we get value of x.

Checking all choices

(Choice A)

-19x + 18 = -19x + 18

-19x+19x=18-18

0=0

(infinite solutions)

(Choice B)

-19x -18 = -19x + 18

-19x+19x=18+18

0≠36

(no solution)

(Choice C)

19x + 18 = -19x + 18

19x+19x=18-18

38x=0

x=0

(One solution)

(Choice D)

19x - 18 = -19x + 18

19x+19x=18+18

38x=36

x=36/38

x=18/19

(One solution)

So, Option C and Option D have exactly one solution.

A rectangular playground is 65m long and 30 m wide. A pathway of 1.5 m width goes all around, outside it. Find the area of the p
BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

97.5 m^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Given data

Length = 65m

Width= 30m

We are told that the width of the path= 1.5m

Hence the area of the path is

=65*1.5

=97.5 m^2
