Hi Mimi!

1. A company sells furniture for home assembly. Their largest bookcase has shelves that should be 115 cm, with a tolerance of 0.6 cm (115 cm ± 0.6 cm). A set of six shelves had lengths of 115.2 cm, 114.9 cm, 115.0 cm, 114.3 cm, 114.7 cm, and 115.7 cm. Which, if any, of the shelves are not within the specified tolerance?

Answer: C) Only the 114.3 cm shelf

Toloerance Levels are between 114.4 and 115.6 and 114.3 is the only one not in the tolerance levels.

Answer: B) Both the 114.3 and 115.7 cm shelves.

It is B because you can't have 114.3 because the lowest is 115 and the highest is 115.7 the highest it can be is 115.6.

V = x³ - 6x²y + 12xy² - 8y³

V = (x - 2y)³

A NASA test rocket launch is set up so that once the rocket takes off from a landing platform,It will splash down safely in a bo
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

237.87 m/s

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a projectile question.

We use the equation for the range of a projectile since we are given the horizontal distance and angle of projection.

So, R = U²sin2θ/g where R = range, U = initial speed of rocket, θ = projection angle and g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s².

Since it is given that the water body is 5 km away, R = 5 km = 5000 m and θ = 30°

So, making U subject of the formula, we have that

U = √(gR/sin2θ)

So, substituting the values of the variables, we have

U = √[9.8 m/s² × 5000 m/sin(2 × 30°)]

U = √[49000 m²/s²/sin60°]

U = √[49000 m²/s²/0.8660]

U = √[56,580.33 m²/s²]

U = 237.87 m/s

So the minimum speed of the rocket necessary to make sure the rocket reaches the water surface is U = 237.87 m/s

ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

7/2

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of the line is given by

Solve each equation, if possible. Write irrational numbers in simplest radical form. Describe the strategy you used to get your
damaskus [11]
1)
x^2 + 4 = 0      Subtract 4 from each side
x^2 = -4
You cannot square a number to get a negative number. No real solution. (If you have learned about imaginary numbers, answer is 2i)

2)
x^2+x-6=0 Factor. 3 and -2 add up to 1, and multiply to -6
(x+3)(x-2) = 0
Zero Product Property: Which numbers would put a zero in one of the parentheses?
x = -3 or x=2

3) x^2-6x+7=0
Completing the Square:
Take half of b (-6), square it, and add/subtract that coefficient
x^2 - 6x + 9 - 9 + 7 = 0
(x -3)^2 - 2 = 0         Add 2 to both sides
(x-3)^2 = 2 Take the square root of both sides
(x-3) = √2 or -√2       Add 3 to both sides
x = 3 + √2 or 3 - √2
