2/3x + 1/2 = 3/4 + 5/3
2/3x + 1/2 - 1/2 = 3/4 + 5/3 - 1/2
2/3x = 3/4 + 5/3 - 1/2
2/3x = 3/4(3/3) + 5/3(4/4) - 1/2(6/6)
2/3x = 9/12 + 20/12 - 6/12
2/3x = 23/12
2/3x(3/2) = 23/12(3/2)
X = 69/24
X = 2 21/24
X = 2 7/8

A coin, having probability p of landing heads, is continually flipped until at least one head and one tail have been flipped. (a
Natali [406]

Answer:

(a)

The probability that you stop at the fifth flip would be

                                   p^4 (1-p)  + (1-p)^4 p

(b)

The expected numbers of flips needed would be

\sum\limits_{n=1}^{\infty} n p(1-p)^{n-1}  = 1/p

Therefore, suppose that  p = 0.5, then the expected number of flips needed would be 1/0.5  = 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

(a)

Case 1

Imagine that you throw your coin and you get only heads, then you would stop when you get the first tail. So the probability that you stop at the fifth flip would be

p^4 (1-p)

Case 2

Imagine that you throw your coin and you get only tails, then you would stop when you get the first head. So the probability that you stop at the fifth flip would be

(1-p)^4p

Therefore the probability that you stop at the fifth flip would be

                                    p^4 (1-p)  + (1-p)^4 p

(b)

The expected numbers of flips needed would be

\sum\limits_{n=1}^{\infty} n p(1-p)^{n-1}  = 1/p

Therefore, suppose that  p = 0.5, then the expected number of flips needed would be 1/0.5  = 2.

Please solve this...I can;t do it do it
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

Area = 867 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

You have a rectangle. This means opposite sides are equal. If you set these expressions equal to each other, you will get two equations with two unknowns, x and y. Next, solve the system of equations to find x and y. Then, use the values to find the length and width of the rectangle. Last, multiply length × width to find the area.

SIZIF [17.4K]
To figure out this question, I first divided 24 into 3, which gives me an answer of 8. then I divided 52 into 7 , which also is 8 . because the two numbers are the same, I know the ratios are equivalent.
