An educator signed up for a paid online professional development session that required watching short video segments and persona
lly reflecting on their content. The educator let the videos run in the background, and quickly clicked through the acknowledgements without completing the reflections. What portion of the Code of Ethics does this violate? (Competency 6)
The portion of the Code of Ethics that the Educator violated is the Obligation to the profession meaning the Educator has go agains the rules of his profession by not doing what he was been assigned to do or what he was been paid for because instead of him to complete the content he went ahead to click on the acknowledgement. Which is why a person who belong to a profession are often bound by professional codes of ethics in which a person who fail to abide to the rules and regulations or meet the duties required of that profession may be judged incompetent.
Therefore the Educator can simply be seen as an incompetent person for violating the PROFESSION OBLIGATION code of ethics rule .
Professional obligation can be defined as a codes of conduct or by contract that every profession is bound with be it, lawyer, doctor engineer etc. It should be noted that this codes of conduct contain standard of conduct, which must be strictly followed. In this context, the educator violates the obligation to the profession.
