  • Inefficient is the term that helps in describing the energy transfer between trophic levels.
  • Primary producers are present in the first step of the food chain.

Further Explanation:

• Inefficient is the term that helps in describing the energy transfer between trophic levels.

The amount of energy decreases with each trophic level while going through the ecosystem. About ten percent of the energy is transferred to each level, and the remaining ninety percent is lost majorly during metabolic activity as heat. For example, if grassland consists of 10000 kilocalories, only 1000 kilocalories are transferred to primary consumers. By the time it reached the tertiary consumer, the maximum amount of energy is lost. The number of consumers in a particular trophic field depends on its size and energy richness.

• Primary producers are present in the first step of the food chain.

Primary producers are the first part of an ecosystem. They are the most important part of the ecosystem. They create the food base along with the decomposer. They are consumed by primary consumers; usually, herbivores and these primary consumers are then consumed by secondary consumers. An organism that lies at the top of the food chain dies, these organisms are consumed by the microorganism (decomposers). They help in fixing the nitrogen level and provide the organic material for the next generation of primary consumers.

Answer:

2) The correct answer would be C- inefficient.

The term inefficient would be the best to describe the energy transfer between trophic levels. It is because most of the energy gets lost at a particular trophic level in the form of heat. The organism uses most of the energy available at particular trophic level for its cellular functions.

Only around 10% of the energy is transferred to the next trophic level.

3) The correct answer would be A- first step.

In any ecosystem, the producers occupy the first place as they manufacture or synthesize food from carbon dioxide and water with the help of sunlight.

Consumers (herbivores and carnivores) depend directly or indirectly on the producers to get their nutrition.

The simple food chain can be summarized as:

Producers→ Primary consumers (herbivores) → secondary consumers (carnivores) → tertiary consumers (top carnivores)

Each transfer RNA requires at least four specific recognition sites that must be inherent in its tertiary structure in order for
Jet001 [13]

Answer: The options are not included.

But the sites are;

Interaction with ribosomes.

Interaction with aminoacyl tRNA

synthase.

Attachment of the specific Amino acid.

Interaction with codon.

Explanation:

Transfer RNA is a type of RNA that help to translate messenger RNA sequence into protein. Each tRNA have two major areas; the anticodon and region for attaching specific Amino acids.

tRNAs function at specific sites in the ribosomes during mRNA deciding.

The four specific recognition sites of trna that must be inherent in it's tertiary structures in order for it to carry out it's role are;.

Interaction with ribosomes.

Interaction with aminoacyl tRNA synthase.

Attachment of specific Amino acid.

Interaction with codon.

Your lab group is experimenting with the diffusion of molecules across a membrane. Dialysis tubing is used as a model cell membr
Margaret [11]

Answer: the membrane channel

Explanation:

In passive diffusion, the small water molecules can move across the phospholipid bilayer seen in blue. This layer acts as a semi-permeable or selectively permeable membrane; its hydrophilic heads are attracted to water (seen facing outwards) while its water-repellent hydrophobic tails face towards each other- allowing  molecules of water to diffuse across the membrane along the concentration gradient.

Thus the water will move from an area of high concentration  to an area of low concentration, until the system reaches a steady state called equilibrium- after this, there will be no net movement of water. Similarly via osmosis, the water passes through the membrane due to the difference in osmotic pressure on either side of the phospholipid bilayer this means that the water moves from regions of high osmotic pressure/concentration to regions of low pressure/ concentration to a steady state.

The dialysis tubing mimics a semi permeable membrane; it only allows water and small molecules of iodine to cross into the bag containing starch. The tubing is impermeable to starch;  these large molecules require the aid of protein omplexes called membrane channels, in order to move across the membrane and against the concentration gradient.
