The Urals are a series of mountains that culturally have been set as the boundary between inland Europe and Asia.
The border stretches following a line from the Aegean Sea, the Marmara Bosphorus, the Black Sea, and the Caucasus. This has been represented in maps. It is important to remember that Eurasia is the former and proper continent and Europe would be a peninsula to Asia, just as Scandinavia but greater in size. The definition has been acknowledged on the basis of cultural traits and dates back to the days of the Soviet Union. Setting the Urals as a frontier has continued in the present. Otherwise, we can talk about the Eurasiatic continent.
The limit between Europe and Asia exists on paper. There is no such a physical barrier or separation between the two continents. The boundary between the two continents is a mere a historical notion.
