Pax Romana was a significant time in human history. Unlike what other sources may say, there wasn't really peace during the Pax Romana. Regardless, good things things happened during that time period.

1. The empire was stable.
2. Art, literature, and theatre flourished.
3. There was a strong leader and emperor to keep Rome safe, so people did not have to worry much.
4. Many construction projects were being built during that time.
5. Agricultural resources like grains and water were being supervised for the people.

In June 1930, Smoot-Hawley raised already high U.S. tariffs on foreign agricultural imports. The purpose was to support U.S. farmers who had been ravaged by the Depression. Instead, it raised food prices. It also compelled other countries to retaliate with their own tariffs. (Hopefully that helps)!
