To find the slope you do \frac{y_{2}- y_{1} }{ x_{2}- x_{1} } so if 4 is y_{2} and 0 is y_{1} and 6 is x_{2} and 2 is x_{1} then you substitute the variables and get \frac{4-0}{6-2} which equals 4/4 which is 1. So (D) 1 is the answer.

Answer:

The slope of the line containing the points V(2,0) and W(6,4) is 1 .

Option (D) is correct .

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope of the line is defined as

m = \frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}

As given in the question

The line containing the points V(2,0) and W(6,4) .

x_{1}=2

y_{1}=0

x_{2}=6

y_{2}=4

Put all the points in the formula

m = \frac{4-0}{6-2}

m = \frac{4}{4}

m = 1

Therefore the slope of the line containing the points V(2,0) and W(6,4) is 1 .

Option (D) is correct .

Nikolai has a jar filled with 120 marbles. he has 72 red marbles, 17 blue marbles, 13 green marbles, and 18 purple marbles. what
asambeis [7]
To find the probability of both of these occurring, you will multiply the probability of choosing a blue marble by the probability of choosing a purple marble (with no replacement after the first one).

Probability of choosing a blue marble:  17/120
Probability of choosing a purple marble: 18/119

17/120 x 18/119 = 3/140

You will have a 3/140 chance of both of these occurring.

Approximately 12.6% of all (untreated) Jonathan apples had bitter pit in a study conducted by the botanists Ratkowsky and Martin
bagirrra123 [75]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let n be a random variable that represents the first Jonathan apple chosen at random that has bitter pit.

a) P(X = n) = q(n-1)p, where q = 1 - p.

From the information given, probability if success, p = 12.6/100 = 0.126

b) for n = 3, the probability value from the geometric probability distribution calculator is

P(n = 3) = 0.096

For n = 5, the probability value from the geometric probability distribution calculator is

P(n = 5) = 0.074

For n = 12, the probability value from the geometric probability distribution calculator is

P(n = 12) = 0.8

c) For n ≥ 5, the probability value from the geometric probability distribution calculator is

P(n ≥ 5) = 0.58

d) the expected number of apples that must be examined to find the first one with bitter pit is the mean.

Mean = 1/p

Mean = 1/0.126 = 7.9

Approximately 8 apples
