-3y = -2x - 1

-3(x - 1) = -2x - 1

-3x + 3 = -2x - 1

-x + 3 = -1

-x = -4

x = 4

y = x - 1

y = (4) - 1

y = 3

(4,3) is your solution

-3y = -2x - 1
y = x - 1

Substitute the y in the first problem for it's equivalent (the second problem):
-3(x - 1) = -2x - 1
Distribute
-3x + 3 = -2x - 1
Add 2x to both sides
-1 x + 3 = -1
Subtract 3 from both sides
-1x = -4
x = 4

Now put that back into one of the original equations:
y = x - 1
y = 4 - 1
y = 3

So, x is 4 and y is 3.

What is the answer to 6= a/4 + 2
Zina [86]
Solve for a.

6 = a / 4 + 2

Subtract 2 from both sides.

4 = a / 4

Multiply both sides by 4.

16 = a

Hope this helps!

Jane can type 150 words in 2 minutes. How many<br> words can she type in 5 minutes?
Masteriza [31]
I believe about 750 this is because of you multiply 150 and 5 you get your answer 750 because each 2 minutes she types is 150 and although you can find your average I just add the average 5 times this would be an easier way!!!

1. Find the distance from point P to QS
12345 [234]

Answer:

5.7 units

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance from point P to QS is the distance from point P (1, 1) to the point of interception R(-3, 5).

Use distance formula to calculate distance between P and R:

PR = \sqrt{(x_2 - x_1)^2 + (y_2 - y_1)^2}

Let,

P (1, 1) = (x_1, y_1)

R(-3, 5) = (x_2, y_2)

Plug in the values into the formula.

PR = \sqrt{(-3 - 1)^2 + (5 - 1)^2}

PR = \sqrt{(-4)^2 + (4)^2}

PR = \sqrt{16 + 16}

PR = \sqrt{32}

PR = 5.7 units (to nearest tenth)
