Well, think about the Order of Operations here. The normal parenthesis are the first to get solved.
8x{[(11)x2]-[(4)x4]}
Next, the brackets.
8x{[22]-[16]}
After the Brackets come the braces.
8x{6}
And finally, just multiply.
The answer is
48
Hope it Helps!  :)

What is the simplified form of i^13
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

i

Step-by-step explanation:

\begin{array}{lclcr}i^{1} & = &(\sqrt{-1})^{1}&=& i\\i^{2} & = & (\sqrt{-1})^{2}& =&-1\\i^{3} & = & (\sqrt{-1})^{3}&=&-i\\i^{4} & = & (\sqrt{-1})^{4}& = &1\\\end{array}

Multiplying by i repeats the pattern .

Thus, any i⁴ⁿ = 1

If n = 3, 4n = 12, so

i¹² = 1 and

i¹³ = i¹ = i

Find the equation of the line that is perpendicular to y = 1/4x – 2 and passes though the point (5, –2). A) y = –1/4x + 18 B) y
Mashcka [7]

Since our line is perpendicular to this line, the slope of

our line is the negative reciprocal of 1/4, which is -4/1.

Remember, negative reciprocal is just a fancy way

of saying flip the fraction and change the sign.

So the slope of our line is -4/1 and we use this slope along

with our given point to write the equation of our line.

Start with the point-slope formula.

Y - y1 = m(x - x1).

~Substitute

Y - -2 = -4/1(x - 5).

Minus a negative is plus a positive.

Y + 2 = -4/1x + 20.

Subtract 2 from both sides.

Y = -4/1x + 18

So, our answer is C.

Which point is on the circle centered at the origin with a radius of 5 units?
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

(2,√21)

Step-by-step explanation:

The circle centered at the origin has equation:

{x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  = 25

Any point that satisfies this equation lie on this circle.

When x=2, we substitute and solve for y.

{2}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  = 25 \\ 4 +  {y}^{2}  = 25 \\  {y}^{2}  = 25 - 4 \\ {y}^{2}  = 21

Take square root to get:

y =  \pm \sqrt{21}

Therefore (2,-√21) and (2,√21) are on this circle.

From the options, (2,√21) is the correct answer
