Average is the...basic number in the set. So, the one that is more relatable. 
Based on that knowledge, just use your data that have or chose and find the most common one.

You take 13 breaths per minute.  Which means in 1 hour or 60 minutes, you will take 13*60 = 780 breaths per hour.

If you take 780 breaths per hour, in one day which is 24 hours, you will take 780*24 = 18720 breaths per day.

Now if the question is asking the number of breaths in one hour and one day, or rather 25 hours, the answer would be 18720 + 780 = 19500 breaths.
