Answer:

Goines uses satire in his narrative because he wants the reader to think critically about the war.

Explanation:

Satire is a literary or artistic technique that ridicules a particular theme, usually as a form of political intervention or otherwise, with the aim of provoking or avoiding a change, but the purpose of satire is to make the reader reflect and think critically in a particular situation .

For this reason, in "Let Sleeping Dogs Lie" by David Lance Goines, he satirizes the journey he had to avoid recruitment during the Vietnam War. The purpose of this work is to make the reader think critically about war.

In which excerpt from Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad is Tubman using ethos?
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

Ethos is a literary element used to establish some form of credibility, morals or ethics. It is used when trying to make someone believe in your character or a piece of information as proper. In this excerpt from Harriet Tubman's: Conductor on the Underground Railroad, "As they walked along she told them stories of her own first flight, she kept painting vivid word pictures of what it would be like to be free". The first sentence indicates the use of ethos by Tubman: "As they walked along she told them stories of her own first flight". And this is because she tries to tell them about the efforts she made to run away for them to trust her abilities.

can someone write an argument essay on a topic about the advantages and disadvantages of always being in contact with your paren
Advocard [28]

Answer:

This is only 165 words, but I got brain dead. Hopefully you can string along some more ideas/answers, but heres what I've got. Sorry if it wasn't enough :(

Explanation:

The advantages and disadvantages of staying in contact with your parents/guardians as a teenager.

There are many advantages and disadvantages when it comes to staying in contact with a parent as a teen. When you're a teen you need space, as you're going through hormones or just need space because of school. There can always be strict parents, disallowing you to see friends or other parts of the family. Parents can shame you and make you feel bad about things you really shouldn't feel bad about.

But keeping contact isn't always bad, we have parents to help out needs and keep us safe until we can finally leave off to college or start our own life. Your parents also pay for the majority of your things. Parents pay for your food, shelter, and even the phone in your pocket.

Parents can both have pros and cons whenever it comes to keeping contact with them, but none the less we should try and be thankful.
