Let the amount he invested in the 5% rate be x and the one in the 7.5% rate be y, then
x + y = 10000 . . . (1)
0.05x = 0.075y . . . (2)

From (2), x = 0.075y/0.05 = 1.5y . . . (3)

Putting (3) into (1) gives
1.5y + y = 10000
2.5y = 10000
y = 10000/2.5 = 4000
x = 1.5(4000) = 6000

Therefore, he invested $6,000 in the secure GIC at 5% and $4,000 in the mutual fund.

What is the slope of the line that passes through the points (-9, -2) and (-9,-6 )? Write in simplest form
Korvikt [17]

Hello.

There are really 2 ways to think about the given problem.

First, we can use the slope formula:

\displaystyle\frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

\displaystyle\frac{-6-(-2)}{-9-(-9)} =\frac{-6+2}{-9+9} =\frac{-4}{0} =

Slope = undefined

The second way is to just take a look at the points.

You should notice that the x-coordinates are the same.'

If the x-coordinates are the same, then the slope is

\Large\boxed{Und.efined}}

I hope it helps.

Have a nice day.

\boxed{imperturbability}

Give an example of a variable in Math terms
KIM [24]

In algebra, terms are the values on which the mathematical operations take place in an expression. A term can be a constant or a variable or both in an expression. In the expression, 3a + 8, 3a and 8 are terms. Here is another example, in which 5x and 7 are terms that form the expression 5x + 7.
