Surface area  = area of the square + 4 times area of one triangle

= 7*7 + 4(1/2 * 7 *14)

= 49 + 4*49  = 245 sq ins

Answer:

245 square in.

Step-by-step explanation:

DO NOT REPORT ME FOR TAKING OFF OF LAST THIS IS JUST ANOTHER EASIER WAY.

first we do 7x7=49 then 2(7 x 14)=2 x 98= 196 now we add: 49+196=245.

The reason this works is that if you have two of the same size triangles you do not need to divide by .5 which is 1/2 and we have to pairs so we can delete the 1/2 or .5 then times by two, typically dividing the 4 by a half. it's faster and easier. For 4 times 49 is hard 2 times 98 is a pinch easier.

ABC is a right angled triangle. All the measurements are in cm.
prohojiy [21]

Step-by-step explanation:

By Pythagoras' Theorem,

we have x² + (x + 2)² = (x + 4)².

=> 2x² + 4x + 4 = x² + 8x + 16

=> x² - 4x - 12 = 0

(The constants are a = -4, b = -12)

=> (x - 6)(x + 2) = 0

=> x = 6 or x = -2

The value x = -2 is rejected as side lengths cannot be negative.

Hence we have x = 6.

=> AB = 6cm, BC = 8cm, AC = 10cm.

P.S. What you see above is the full solution. You just need to type x² - 4x - 12 = 0 in the blank.

A rocket is divided into three sections: the payload and navigation section in the top, the fuel section in the middle, and the
Zarrin [17]

Answer:

Let's name each of the three sections of the rocket as:

-P payload and navigation

-F fuel

-E engine

Now, we are told that:

The top section is one-sixth the length of the bottom section:

P=\frac{1}{6}E    (1)

The middle section is one-half the length of the bottom section:

F=\frac{1}{2}E   (2)

The total length is 240ft:

P+F+E=240ft    (3)

We may begin by substiting (1) and (2) in equation (3), in order to find the value of the engine section E:

\frac{1}{6}E+\frac{1}{2}E+E=240ft

E=144ft    (4)>>>> Value of the engine section length

Then, we substitute this value of E in equations (1) and (2):

P=\frac{1}{6}144ft

P=24ft   (5)>>>> Value of the payload and navigation section length

F=\frac{1}{2}144ft

F=72ft    (6)>>>> Value of the fuel section length

How do I explain this??
beks73 [17]

Answer:

No

Step-by-step explanation:

The x-axis shows Craig's pitch speed in miles per hour.

The highest speed he did was between 70 to 75 mph. Craig's doesn't specify the speed in the histogram, so we can only be sure that Craig's fastest is between 70 to 75 mph.
