It was a period between the beginning of "talkies" or sound movies till 1934. This was the era of Pre - Code movies. Those movies had violence, nudity, strong and powerful women and sometimes criminals as a heroes. In 1934 the Motion Picture Production Code was enforced and the era of those movies ended.
