The construction illustrated above is <u>a parallel line to a given line from a point not on the line.</u> Option (A) is correct.

Further Explanation:

Given:

The options are as follows,

A. A parallel line to a given line from a point not on the line

B. An angle congruent to a given angle

C. The bisector of an angle

D. A perpendicular to a given line from a point on the line

Explanation:

From the figure it has been observed that the two line are parallel to each other.

The construction illustrated above is <u>a parallel line to a given line from a point not on the line.</u> Option (A) is correct.

Option (A) is correct.

Option (B) is not correct.

Option (C) is not correct.

Option (D) is not correct.

A company makes three sizes of juice bottles: small, medium, and large.
Ivahew [28]

An expression in terms of s that represents the number of large bottles is :  L = (\frac{15s}{2} /3})

<h3>Ratio of different sizes of bottles </h3>

The company makes s small bottles every minute

let ; M represent the number of medium bottles made every minute

L represent the number of large bottles made every minute

small bottles to medium =  2 : 3

small bottles to medium =  s : M

M is the unknown, so to find how many medium bottles that has been made,  we must cross multiply

2M = 3s

M = \frac{3s}{2}  medium bottles made every minute

medium bottles to large bottles =  3 : 5

medium bottles to large bottles =  M : L

where M = \frac{3s}{2}

The equation becomes:

           3 : 5

           \frac{3s}{2} : L

L is the unknown, so to find how many Large bottles that has been made,  we must cross multiply

3L =( \frac{3s}{2} ) * 5

L = (\frac{15s}{2} /3})

L = ( \frac{5}{2} s)

L = 2.5 s

therefore the large bottles the company makes every minute is 2.5s large bottles

we can conclude that the expression for the number of large bottles the company makes every minute with respect to s is : L = 2.5 s

Taisha uses the elliptical cross- trainer at the gym. Her general goal is to burn 280 calories per workout, but she varies by as
Fed [463]

Given - Taisha has a general goal is to burn the 280 calories.

she is varies by the 25 calories.

Find out the maximum and minimum of calories burn by the taisha.

To proof -

let us assume that the calories burn by the taisha be x.

as given the calories are varies by the 25 calories.

then the maximum calories equation becomes

x-25 = 280

x = 280 + 25

x = 305

the maximum calories burn by the taisha is 305 calories.

minimum calories equationbecomes

x + 25 = 280

x = 255

The minmum calories burn by the taisha is 255 calories.

Hence proved

How do you decide which variable to isolate in order to use the substitution method to solve a system of linear equation?
Kazeer [188]
It doesn’t really matter which variable you isolate first but usually you would use the one that’s by itself already. like for example one of the equations was y = 8. you would already have your y solve for so you would just have to plug that in for y in the other equation. personally, i usually do x first unless one of the equations has either x or y by itself already. i think its easier to just do x first and then solve for y after that, but it just depends on what the equations are; sometimes it might be easier to just do y first. hope this helps!
