<span>If a quantity increases by 25% and then decreases by 25%, will that result be the original quantity? Explain.
Let’s try to be able to know the answer:
=> Let’s have 10 as the value
Increase by 25%
=> 10 + 25%
=> 10 * .25 =  2.5
=> 10 + 2.5 = 12.5 the new value
Now, decrease this by 25%
=> 12.5 – 25%
=> 12.5 * .25 = 3.125
=> 12.5 – 3.125 = 9.375 or 9.4
Thus, the given statement is false.

Which lines are perpendicular to the line y – 1 = (x+2)? Check all that apply.
Ilya [14]

Answer:

none of them

Step-by-step explanation:

Two lines are perpendicular when satisfy the next equation: m1*m2 = -1, where m1 and m2 are the slopes o the lines.

line 1:

y – 1 = (x+2)

y = x + 3

slope of line 1 = 1

line 2:

y + 2 = –3(x – 4)

y + 2 = -3*x + 12

y =  -3*x + 10

slope of line 2 = -3

m1*m2 = 1*(-3 ) = -3

They are not perpendicular

line 3:

y − 5 = 3(x + 11)

y − 5 = 3*x + 33

y = 3*x + 38

slope of line 3 = 3

m1*m3 = 1*3 = 3

They are not perpendicular

line 4:

y = -3x –

slope of line 4 = -3

m1*m4 = 1*(-3 ) = -3

They are not perpendicular

line 5:

y = x – 2

slope of line 5 = 1

m1*m5 = 1*1 = 1

They are not perpendicular

line 6:

3x + y = 7

y = -3x + 7

slope of line 6 = -3

m1*m6 = 1*(-3 ) = -3

They are not perpendicular

A restaurant critic for a newspaper examines the prices restaurants charge for their meals and discovers that the restaurants th
maksim [4K]

Answer:

When customers wait longer for tables, they are more likely to pay higher prices.

Step-by-step explanation:

Supply/Demand relationships predict that changing one side will influence the other.  If demand exceeds capacity, suppliers can raise prices without risk of losing products sold.  In fact, total income will rise.  The restaurant may raise it's price to the point that supply meets demand.  In this case, the goal of the higher priced meals is to reduce wait times, not meals sold.  If the meals sold are all at a higher price/meal, then income rises and wait times are reduced.  What's not to like, if you own the restaurant?
