Karter has 24 T-shirts.

t=24

Karter has 8 fewer pairs of shoes than pairs of pants.

p=s+8

The number of T-shirts Karter has is double the number of pants he has.

2x p= t

then

p=t/2=24/2=12

s=p-8=12-8=4
