Answer:

Do oxygen atoms become more stable or less stable when oxygen forms compounds? They become more stable because they gain or share valence electrons giving each oxygen atom a set of 8 valence electrons. They change because the number of valence electrons changes in a pattern that repeats in each period.

What process is used to take atmospheric nitrogen and turn it into nitrates?
andre [41]

Answer:

Nitrogen fixation

Explanation:

Certain soil bacteria, e.g., Azobacter spp can combine free nitrogen of the atmosphere with oxygen to form nitrates. This is called nitrogen fixation. Other nitrogen-fixing bacteria such as Rhizobium form symbiotic unions with the roots of leguminous plants called root nodules. They fix nitrogen to form nitrates which are used up by the host plant. Nitrifying soil bacteria, e.g., Nitrobacter convert nitrites to nitrates in a process called nitrification.

vasopressin raises blood pressure by ____.
lesya [120]
The answer to this question would be: b. constricting the blood vessels

Vasopressin can constrict the arteriole and reduce urine production by increasing the absorption in the renal tubule. When arteriole blood vessel constricts, the diameter of the vessel will be reduced. A smaller diameter will result in an increased peripheral resistance and cause the blood pressure to be increased.
Vasopressin doesn't affect the blood natrium level.
