Veseljchak [2.6K]

The term myoparesis is used to describe the weakness or slight paralysis of the muscles. The myoparesis can begin in a person suddenly or it might progress with gradual weakness of the muscles. The affected individual may suffer from weakness of the muscles with incomplete paralysis along with experiencing pain and spasms in the affected muscles. The causes for the development of myoparesis includes stroke, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, and spinal cord injury.

Hence, the answer is 'weakness or slight muscular paralysis'.

What is the purpose of the electron transport chain in the thylakoid membrane?
Feliz [49]

Answer:

To produce energy in form of ATP

Explanation:

The thylakoid membrane harbors photosystems that will receive light photons, ejecting electrons from a main chlorophyl molecule in a reaction center, to other acceptors.  These electrons will reach the electron transport chain to create a proton gradient, and subsequently, to produce ATP.  Later on these electrons will reach the other photosystem, to produce reducing power.  This is in plants.

Cyclic photosystems also exist, in some bacteria, for example,  and only produce energy as ATP.  They also have an electron transport chain.

Prior to the advent of multiplex genetic testing, a person would have been most likely to have a genetic test to determine if th
Sloan [31]

Answer: Colon cancer

Explanation:

All cancers, but especially colon and rectal cancers, commonly referred to as colorectal cancer (CRC), have hereditary factors that potentially increase one’s risk.

Genetic testing is determine if there is an increased risk of colon cancer. Apolipoprotein E (apoE) plays a major role in the metabolism of bile acids, cholesterol and triglycerides, and has recently been proposed as being involved in the carcinogenic process. Given the potential role of bile acids in colorectal cancer etiology, it is reasonable that colorectal cancer risk might be modified by apoE genotype. The absence of an e3 apoE allele significantly increased the risk of colon cancer especially for individuals above 50years.
