Alright, lets get started.

(A) The total length of backyard is = 8 + 9 = 17 ft

The total width of backyard is = 5 + 3 = 8 ft

Hence total area of backyard = length * width

Hence total area of backyard = 17 * 8 = 136 square feet

Now area of Patio = 5 * 8 = 40 square feet

Now area of walkway = 3 * 8 = 24 square feet

Now area of garden = 6 * 3 = 18 square feet

Total area of Patio, walkway and garden = 40 + 24 + 18

Total area of Patio, walkway and garden = 82 square feet

So, percent of the total area of Hal’s backyard is taken up by the patio, walkway, and garden = \frac{82}{136} * 100

percent will be = 60.3 %

Means 60 % : Answer (A)

(B) One longer side of Hal’s backyard lies next to the back of his house.

So, he not need to built fence on this side.

So, rest three sides he needs fencing.

The length of rest three sides will be = 17 + 8 + 8

length of three sides = 33 ft

For 1 feet, it takes = $ 9.75

So, for 33 ft, it take = 33*9.75 = 321.75

Hal spent $ 321.75 for his new fence. : Answer (B)

Hope it will help :)

I don’t think so, a graph is a function only if the vertical line passes through the graph at one distinct point.

Find the vertex of the graph of f(x) = x2 + 4x - 5.
Fofino [41]
You can solve this in two ways.

1. Graphical. Plot the graph for x between -5 and 1 (see attachement).
The vertex of the graph is the peak of the curve, which has the coordinates x=-2, y=-9.

2. Analytical. Calculate the derivative of the function f(x)
\frac{df}{dx}=2x+4
Solve the equation:
2x+4=0
will give the solution x=-2.
Replace x=-2 in the f(x) function and you'll get the value of y:
(-2)^2+4 \cdot (-2)-5=4-8-5=-9

You get the same answer: x=-2, y=-9

So the answer is
<span>B. (-2, -9)</span>

Answer:

If you and your friend are splitting a 200 dollar job, the answer would be 25$

Step-by-step explanation:

So, divide 200 by 4

You will get 50

Then divide 50 by 2

This gives you the answer of 25

So each friend will get 25 dollars for completing 1/4th of the job

Hope this is correct and helps!
