Hey there!

Keep in mind that when you are subtracting a negative term from another term, the negative and subtraction will both cancel out and you'll add the term instead. When you add terms like these, you just add up the coefficients (the numbers in front of the unknown terms) and leave the unknown term the same. Anything that doesn't have a coefficient has an implied 1 in front of it.

3a^{5} -(-a^{5})

3a^{5} + a^{5}

3a^{5} + 1a^{5}

4a^{5}

4a^{5} will be your answer.

Hope this helped you out! :-)

love history [14]

Answer:

  B.  $450

Step-by-step explanation:

The amount of commission is the commission rate (3%) times the amount of sales to which it is applied ($5000). Garrett's commission last week would be ...

  0.03 × $5000 = $150

He is also paid $300 each week in addition to his commission, so his total pay last week was ...

  pay = salary + commission

  pay = $300 +150 = $450

Differentiation. questions 1 and 2
drek231 [11]
For 11, we start by plugging 1 in, getting 2(1)^2+1-5=-2=y

Plugging 1+m instead, we get 2(1+m)^2+1+m-5=2(1+2m+m^2)+1+m-5
= 2+4m+2m^2+1+m-5= 2m^2+5m-2. We have to find the difference between that and -2, so 2m^2+5m-2 -(-2)=2m^2+5m

Differentiating 12, we use the Power Rule to get -6x^2+14, and plugging x=1 into it, we get -6(1)^2+14=-6+14=18

an article after allowing a discount of 20% on its marked price was sold at a gain of 20% had it been sold after allowing 25% di
Effectus [21]

Answer:

Rs 120

Step-by-step explanation:

Let MP = m

Discount = 25% of MP = m/4

SP = MP - Discount

= m - m/4 = 3m/4

If profit is 20%, CP = 3m/4 x 100/120 = 5m/8

=> Profit = 3m/4 - 5m/8 = m/8

Given Profit - Discount = Rs 15

=> |m/8 - m/4| = 15

m/8 = 15

m = Rs 120
