For example: Lets say you are buys a pair of shoes for $20. It's on sale for 30% off. Put a decimal in front of the amount of the discount .30 And then multiple .30 by the amount it is originally 20 Your answer will be 6. Subtract $6 from $20 and that is how much your pair of shows will be with the discount. Answer: $14
