Answer: The major problem in Mumbai is the growth of squatter settlements known in India as SLUMS. These slums come with many issues for people including the lack of planned access to clean water and sanitation systems, poor health, lack of education, unemployment and the prospect of crime.

Challenging Conditions in the slums:

1. Lack of sanitation is the major issue.

2. Lack of access to clean water.

3. Lack of legal rights.

4. Poor Health.

5. Unemployment and Poor Quality Work.

One of the most striking ongoing changes in the Arctic is the rapid melting of sea ice. The fate of permafrost in a warmer world is a particularly important issue. Together, tundra and taiga account for approximately one-third of global carbon storage in soil, and a large portion of this carbon is tied up in permafrost in the form of dead organic matter. Some of this organic matter has been preserved for many thousands of years, not because it is inherently difficult to break down but because the land has remained frozen. Thawing of the permafrost would expose the organic material to microbial decomposition, which would release carbon into the atmosphere in the form of CO2 and methane (CH4). Rates of microbial decomposition are much lower under anaerobic conditions, which release CH4, than under aerobic conditions, which produce CO2; however, CH4 has roughly 25 times the greenhouse warming potential of CO2. The Arctic has been a net sink (or repository) of atmospheric CO2 since the end of the last ice age. At the same time, however, the region has been a net source of atmospheric CH4, primarily because of the abundance of wetlands in the region.

Como as diferentes línguas surgiram?

Primeiramente nunca fomos um só povo e uma só nação. Quando os seres humanos começaram a desenvolver sua capacidade lingüística, já estavam espalhados pelo mundo. A grande maioria estava dividida em grupos que eram nômades, ou que fixaram-se em algum lugar, sobrevivendo de agricultura e criações de animais.

Mas existe, sim, a teoria de que a maior parte das línguas hoje existentes vieram de uma proto-língua, que se espalhou do oriente médio para a Europa, Ásia e África. Por isso, apesar de serem diferentes, têm muitas coisas em comum. Existem, por exemplo, características muito semelhantes entre alemão e japonês, que pela lógica, não deveriam existir, já que uma língua é germânica e outra oriental...

Ora, o processo é muito simples. Você fala igual a sua mãe? Não, né?Ou igual a sua vó? Piorou... Fala igual falavam no século 19? Nossa, bem diferente... Já leu Camões? É do século 16. Não parece, mas aquilo é português. Conclusão: as línguas mudam. E quanto mais passa o tempo, mais elas mudam.

Considere agora outro aspecto. Sua vó sabe o que é um modem, um mouse, o youtube, um jogo de rpg, bluetooth ou wireless? Pode até ser que sim. Mas na época dela, ninguém usava essas palavras inglesas no Brasil. Daqui a 100 anos, pode ter certeza, elas estarão no Aurélio. Conclusão: as línguas se influenciam e se misturam. E quanto maior o domínio de um governo ou império sobre os outros países, mas essa língua interferirá. Hoje em dia, os Estados Unidos são a maior potência, por isso todas as línguas têm sido brutalmente modificadas pelo inglês. O mesmo acontecia com o latim na época do império romano. Por isso tem tantas línguas latinas e mesmo as que não são latinas, tem grande parte dos vocábulos, radicais, prefixos, sufixos e regras com origem no latim.

Por último, a distância. O português de portugal é diferente do daqui porque lá a vida seguiu de um jeito e aqui de outro. As necessidades de comunicação não são as mesmas, nem as características socio-culturais. É provável que daqui a alguns séculos a nossa língua nem seja mais considerada "português", de tão diferente. Assim, como um belo dia, foi convencionado que o que se falava em portugal, na espanha e na frança eram tão diferentes do latim e tão diferentes entre si que deviam ser chamadas de línguas separadamente.
