= mx+b

Where:

m is the slope, and

b is the y-intercept

m=

5 - 4/ -2 - -10

M= 1/8

y=1/8x+b

4=1/8 × -10+b, or solving for b:

b=4-(1/8)(-10). b=21/4.

y=1/8x+21/4

A tailor cuts 2 3/4 yards from a roll of fabric to make one curtain.
Otrada [13]

Answer:

You know, I really don’t like the 312 notation, I think it’s a lot more confusing than writing 3.5 or even 72. I’ll use the latter here, to make the math easier.

Okay, Erica started with 72 yards of fabric. Then, she uses 2/3 of that. But how much is 23 of 72? All you have to do is multiply!

72⋅23=146=73

Alright, she used 73 yards of fabric in the curtain, if you take that out of the total how much will be left?

72−73=21−146=76

Here it is, she will have 76 yards of fabric left. If you want the answer in that notation, it is 116.

Find an equation of the line passing through the following points (-8, 4) and (-5, -5)
oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer:

y= -3x-20

Step-by-step explanation:

°First find the gradient between the two points

Gradient= - 3

°Using the formula y= mx+c substitute the gradient into the equation. You'll get something like this: y=-3x+c

°Substitute the point (-8;4) in the above equation. You'll get something like this : 4=-3(-8) +c

°Calculate the value of c. It'll give you c=-20

°Substitute c=-20 in the equation

Final answer is y= - 3x-20

HELP!!!!
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

8 y^{50}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given (64 y Superscript 100 Baseline) Superscript one-half.

Let us write it into an equation.

\left(64 y^{100}\right)^{\frac{1}{2}}

Apply radical rule: \sqrt[n]{a}=a^{\frac{1}{2}} and a^{m+n}=a^m+a^n

\begin{aligned}\left(64 y^{100}\right)^{\frac{1}{2}} &=\sqrt[2]{64 y^{100}} \\&=\sqrt[2]{8^{2} y^{50} y^{50}} \\&=\sqrt[2]{8^{2}\left(y^{50}\right)^{2}} \\&=8 y^{50}\end{aligned}

Hence, 8 y^{50} is equivalent to  (64 y Superscript 100 Baseline) Superscript one-half.

If h(2)=7 and h'(2)=-2,find d/dx [(h(x))/(x)] <br> A. –11/4 B. 2 C. D. 8 E. 16
valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

A. \frac{-11}{4}

Remember that if f and g are functions with g(x)\neq 0 then, \frac{d}{dx}\frac{f(x)}{g(x)}=\frac{f'(x)g(x)-g'(x)f(x)}{g(x)^2}.

Then,

\frac{d}{dx}\frac{h(x)}{x}=\frac{h'(x)x-h(x)}{x^2}

Evaluating in x=2,

\frac{h'(2)*2-h(2)}{2^2}=\frac{-4-7}{4}=\frac{-11}{4}

Then the answer is A.
