The main way in which European affairs complicated the internal political and diplomatic problems of the US was that the US owned France a lot of money from the Revolution, and felt pressured to enter the war on France's side. They could not afford to do this, however.

What did Roosevelt try to persuade people to do during the banking crisis of 1933?
ale4655 [162]
Though state banks had forced their governors to declare state-wide bank holidays in response to President Hoover’s inaction, making it near-impossible for Roosevelt to do anything other than issue a federal mandate, he was able to move quickly to prevent any extreme damage to the banking system or federal finances, and to prevent a wholesale loss of public faith in the American economy.

How did the Watts riots and rebellion express the frustration many African Americans felt from decades of racial indignities? Ho
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

In the summer of 1965 the atmosphere in Los Angeles, and especially in the black ghetto of Watts, was very heavy. A few miles from the luxury of Beverly Hills, most homes were dilapidated, the population density was four times that of the most densely populated "white" part of town, one in four children was illegitimate, most residents illiterate, and poverty was massive.

The arrest of a black man for driving under the influence of alcohol and the excessive police violence he was subjected to on the night of August 11, upset the black ghettos. The next day riots and sporadic stone warfare with police took the form of mass demonstrations. The following two days, Los Angeles became the scene of the worst internal unrest in the United States. On the morning of August 13, the fever of the uprising swept through Watts and spread throughout the city. The clashes were of such magnitude that President Johnson even had to mobilize the National Guard to calm the situation, which resulted in 34 deaths and hundreds of wounded and detained.

What was the Israeli Air Forces objective at the start of the six day war?
zepelin [54]

Answer:

The immediate causes for the war included a series of escalating steps taken by the Arabs: the concluding of a Syrian-Egyptian military pact to which Jordan and Iraq later joined, the expulsion of the UN Emergency Force (UNEF) from the Sinai Peninsula and the concentration of Egyptian forces there, and finally the closure by Egypt of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping, constituting a casus belli for Israel.

When Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Lebanon moved their forces toward the Israeli border, Israel mobilized its reserve forces, and launched a diplomatic campaign to win international support to end the Egyptian blockade of Israeli shipping through the Straits of Tiran.

When this failed, and in reaction to Arab threats of wiping Israel out, the war began with an Israeli pre-emptive aerial strike on 5 June 1967. It ended on 10 June 1967 with Israel's victory.
