F=ar^t if the half-life is 96 years...

.5=r^96

ln(.5)=96lnr

ln(.5)/96=lnr

r=e^((ln.5)/96)

f=800e^(336(ln.5)/96)

f=70.71

So about 71mg will remain after 336 years.

Answer:

71 mg

Step-by-step explanation:

nickel-63 has half-life of about 96 years. after 336 years

Initial value is  800 mg sample

half life of nickel-63 is 96 years

time given is 336 years

we use half life formula to get the71 mg amount of nickel remains

Final value = initial value (1/2)^(Time /t(half life ))

final \ value = 800(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{336}{96}}

now simplify it

336/ 96 = 7/2

final \ value = 800(\frac{1}{2})^{\frac{7}{2}}

= 70.7106

so answer is

I don’t understand this problem
ikadub [295]

Hello! the answer is c

First of all let's eliminate the answers that do not make sense. For A. numbers are NOT irrational because they are a fraction. Numbers are also not irrational because they are a repeating number. C and D are both correct as fractions and terminating decimals are both rational numbers.

34/3≈11.33333333

By using a certain formula you can convert repeating decimals to a fraction. But most people know that .3333333 is 1/3. This gives us 11 1/3 as our answer. So what does it match? It is not a terminating decimal. It repeats but can be written as a fraction. Therefore our answer is C) Rational, because it is a fraction.

I hope this helps!
