8 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Assume that Maria bought all apples. Then the 10 fruits would cost $2 * 10 = $20. However, the actual value is $2 more.

By converting an apple to an orange, the cost will increase by $1. Since we need to increase by $2, there should be 2 oranges.

Hence there are 10 - 2 = 8 apples.

Answer:

Maria bought 8 apples.

Step-by-step explanation:

given:

Apples cost $2 each, while oranges cost $3 each. Maria purchased 10 fruits in total and spent $22.

find:

How many apples did she buy?

solution:

apples (a) + oranges (o) = 10 ------------- eq.1

$2 apple (a) + $3 orange (o) = $22 -------eq.2

first solve orange from eq.1

a = 10 - o

now, substitute orange in eq.2

2(10 - o) + 3 o = $22

simplify:

20 - 2 o + 3 o  = 22

o = 2

<u>solve a using o = 2</u>

a = 10 - 2

a = 8

therefore,

Maria bought 8 apples.

Find the minimum and maximum possible areas for a rectangle measuring 4.15 cm by 7.34 cm. Round to the nearest hundredth. A. min
Shalnov [3]

This is probably in the context of a discussion of significant figures and accuracy.

When we record a measurement of 4.15 cm with two significant figures, that means we believe the exact value is in the range from 4.145 cm to  41.155 cm

Similarly 7.34 really means between 7.335 and 7.345 cm.

The minimum area rectangle is

4.145 \times 7.335 = 30.403575 \approx 30.40

The maximum area rectangle is

4.155 \times 7.345 =30.518475 \approx 30.52

Choice A
