Answer:

A) allows bacteria to adapt to changing environments.

D) allows multicellular organisms to maintain homeostasis.

Explanation:

Controlling gene expression is very significant to a cell because it enables it to prevent waste of energy and raw materials during the production of substance it does not need. Therefore, it allows a cell to be a more specialized and dynamic whole that can intervene during changing conditions by controlling its physiology.

ZWhat Organelle that conducts respiration for the cell
baherus [9]

Answer:

The organelle that conduct respiration for the cell is MITOCHONDRIA.

Explanation:

The cells of living organisms are made up of different organelles, each of the organelles have specific functions, which they perform. The mitochondria is the cell organelle that is responsible for carrying out respiration in the cells. Respiration involves the breaking down of glucose molecules in order to produce energy in form of ATP. Mitochondria is also called the power house of the cell because of its function of energy production.

What are the phases of meiosis where crossing over occur
ehidna [41]

Answer:

Prophase 1

Explanation:

Prophase I :It can be divided into five stages:

1)Leplotene: In this stage, chromosome becomes visible and shorten as a single structure.

2)Zygotene: Homologous / sister chromosome pair up. This process is known as synapse. Synapse is the process of attachment of homologous /sister chromosome. One pair comes from the male parent while the other comes from the female parent.

3)Pachytene: Bivalents shorten.

4)Diplotene:Point of attachment of non-sister chromatids. The two chromosomes are seen to be joined at several points along their length. These points are known as Chiasmata.(Chiasmata, a cross). The paternal gene A, B, C may swap for the maternal gene a, b, c for instance, leading to a new gene combination in the resulting chromatids. This is referred to as *CROSSING OVER*.

5)Diakenesis: Homologous centromere move apart.

So, crossing over occurs in *Prophase 1.
