The neutral atom also has 20 electrons, but to form the 2+ ion, it needs to lose 2 of these, giving just 18 electrons. A neutral calcium atom has 20 protons and so 20 electrons. A calcium ion has a 2+ charge so it has lost 2 electrons. It has 20 protons and 18 neutrons.

<h3>What is Manometer ?</h3>

Manometer is a U shaped instrument which is used to measure the pressure acting on a column of fluid , a difference in the pressure  in the two arms of the manometer causes the liquid to reach different heights.

The difference  in the heights of the Hg columns in Diagram B is17 mm-Hg.

the atmospheric pressure is 769 mm-Hg,

the pressure of the confined gas in mm-Hg = ?

Devante buys a helium birthday balloon for his mom at the grocery store, where the temperature is a comfortable 72oF. He takes t
frozen [14]
The balloon would be smaller and not float as well because of the low temperature. The particles in the balloon when in the car will slow down and get closer together because of the low temperature. That caused it to become more dense and smaller in size then before. When in the store, the particulars in the balloon we’re moving faster and more spread apart

How many liters of oxygen are required to react completely with 14.8 mol of Al?
Bond [772]

Answer:

296 L

Explanation:

We will need a balanced equation with moles, so let's gather all the information in one place.

                  4Al + 3O₂ ⟶ 2Al₂O₃

n/mol:        17.4

1. Moles of O₂

n = \text{17.4 mol Al}\times \dfrac{\text{3 mol O}_{2}}{\text{4 mol Al}}= \text{13.05 mol O}_{2}

2. Volume of O₂

You haven't given the conditions at which the volume is measured, so I assume it is at STP (0 °C and 1 bar).

At STP the molar volume of a gas is 22.71 L.

V = \text{13.05 mol}\times \dfrac{\text{22.71 L}}{\text{1 mol }}= \textbf{296 L}

Does the density of ice affect the melting rate of ice, or does adding objects affect melting rates? I'm going to need evidence
kotykmax [81]
The density of ice does not affect the melting rate. But, adding an object does affect the melt rate. The reason this is is because when there is an object, there is less to melt. Hence, affecting the melting rate.
