A client with cancer of the bladder is admitted to the hospital for diagnostic tests to determine the extent of the disease. whi
le the nurse is caring for the client, the client asks, "if they remove my bladder, how will i be able to urinate?" which is the best response by the nurse?
In responding to the client, it is best to have the factual information to be accompanied by emotional support. It is a way of saying that you understand the feelings of the client though there are other alternative and methods in order to urinate even if the bladder is removed. The nurse should say that he or she knows that the client is upset regarding the matter but removing the bladder has alternatives in order for the client to urinate.
