The answer is (x.y) = (12,0).

Since the right hand sides of the two equations are the same, the left hand sides must be the same as well.

In other words, is the expression -3x+7y equals -36 and so does the expression -3x+2y, then the two expression must equal each other, since they are two different ways of writing the same number. It's just like saying that 10+3 = 15-2, because they both represent the number 13.

So, we have

-3x+7y = -3x+2y

We can add 3x to both sides to simplify it. We're left with

7y = 2y \iff 5y = 0 \iff y = 0

Since we found the value for y, we can plug it in one of the two equations to deduce the value for x. For example, let's choose the first equation to get

-3x+7\cdot 0=-36 \iff -3x = -36 \iff x = 12

What is the maximum number of possible extreme values for the function f(x)=x^4+x^3-7x^2-x+6
notka56 [123]

A 4th degree polynomial will have at most 3 extreme values. Since the degree is even, there will be one global extreme, with possible multiplicity. The remainder, if any, will be local extremes that may be coincident with each other and/or the global extreme.

(The number of extremes corresponds to the degree of the derivative, which is 1 less than the degree of the polynomial.)

Answer:

  a) ∠DAE = 33°; ∠ABD = 57°

  b) ∠CEB = 90°

  c) ∠ABE = 22°

  d) ∠ADE = 15°

Step-by-step explanation:

The diagonals of a rhombus meet at right angles. Each bisects the corner angles at its ends. Adjacent angles are supplementary, opposite angles are congruent, and each diagonal creates two isosceles triangles.

a) ∠DAE = 90° - ∠ADE = 90° -57°

  ∠DAE = 33°

  ∠ADE = ∠ABD = 57°

__

b) ∠CEB = 90° . . . . . the diagonals meet at right angles

__

c) ∠ABE = 44°/2

  ∠ABE = 22°

__

d) ∠ADE = 90° -(1/2)∠DAB = 90° -150°/2

  ∠ADE = 15°
