Answer:

Renaissance

Explanation:

The Renaissance was a period that followed the Middle Ages and changed civilization deeply. During this period, there was the discovery and exploration of new continents, substitution of the astronomy system, the decline of the feudal system.

During this period a series of inventions emerged, such as the printing press.

This changed everything because the printing press made possible that ideas were spread and they were not controlled anymore by churches and monks. With the printing press, Classical learning was revived, wisdom came back to the people after a long time of medieval times that were considered a cultural decline.

Why didn’t the reforms made after President Garfield’s assassination completely reduce corruption nationwide? A. The reforms app
polet [3.4K]

The correct answer is D, as the reforms applied only to the federal government.

President Garfield was murdered at the hands of a stalwart to whom he had denied a public position. After his death, the Pendleton Act was sanctioned in 1883, to establish the ways in which federal government officials would accede to their positions, based on merit rather than political affiliation.

But the Pendleton Act only applied to the federal government, so at the state and local level the corrupt designation practice by political affiliation continued to be used.
