X-5y= 36
2x+y=-16  from the first line, x=5y+36, then substitue for x below

2(5y+36) + y =-16 so 10y+72+y=-16, so 11y+72=-16, so 11y=-88 or y=-8
y=-8, put this in your equation and you get x+40=36 or x=-4,
so your answer is x=-4 and y=-8

X-5y=36
x+y=-26

y=-26-x

x-5(-26-x)=36
x+130+x=36
2x+130=36
2x=36-130
2x=-94
x=47

Find the area<br> cant solve
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

36in²

Step-by-step explanation:

<h3>Area of the White Region: </h3>

A = l * w

The rectangle is 3 by 2.

A = 3 * 2

A = 6

The white part of the rectangle is 6in².

<h3>Area of the blue region:</h3>

A = l * w

The rectangle is 6 by 7.

A = 6*7

A = 42

The blue part of the rectangle is 42in².

<h3>Area of the shaded region:</h3>

[area of the blue part] - [area of the white part]

42 - 6 = 36

The area of the shaded region should be 36in².

Find the magnitude of a vector with initial point A(3, 4, 10) and terminal point B(8, 4, –2).
Fantom [35]

Answer:

B

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the distance formula in 3 dimensions

d = \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^2+(y_{2}-y_{1})^2+(z_{2}-z_{1})^2      }

with (x₁, y₁, z₁ ) = (3, 4, 10) and (x₂, y₂, z₂ ) = (8, 4, - 2)

d = \sqrt{(8-3)^2+(4-4)^2+(-2-10)^2}

   = \sqrt{5^2+0^2+(-12)^2}

    = \sqrt{25+144}

    = \sqrt{169}

     = 13 → B
