According to the Pythagorean Theorem, in a right triangle, the the squares of the sides equal the square of the hypotenuse. if the sides were to be A and B and the Hypotenuse were to b C, A²+B²=C². In your case, A=10 and C=10. If you were to plug that into the Pythagorean Theorem, 100+B²=100. (10²=100) If you subtract 100 by both sides (100=100 so they cancel each other out), B²=0. in a right triangle, a leg cannot equal 0. Therefore, A right triangle cannot have a leg that is 10 meters long and a hypotenuse that is 10 meters long.

Determine the equation of the linear function that has a slope of -4 and passes through the point (2,-4). Write the equation in
padilas [110]

Answer:

Part 1) y=-4x+4

Part 2) The graph in the attached figure

Step-by-step explanation:

Part 1)

we know that

The linear equation in slope intercept form is equal to

y=mx+b

where

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

we have

m=-4\\point\ (2,-4)

substitute in the linear equation

-4=-4(2)+b

solve for b

-4=-8+b\\b=8-4\\b=4

substitute

y=-4x+4

Part 2) Draw the equation

we know that

To graph a line we need two points

we have the y-intercept (0,4) and (2,-4)

Plot the points, connect them and join to draw the line

see the attached figure

shutvik [7]

Given:

The limit problem is:

\lim_{x\to 3}(x^2+8x-2)

To find:

The limit of the function by using direct substitution.

Solution:

We have,

\lim_{x\to 3}(x^2+8x-2)

Applying limit, we get

\lim_{x\to 3}(x^2+8x-2)=(3)^2+8(3)-2

\lim_{x\to 3}(x^2+8x-2)=9+24-2

\lim_{x\to 3}(x^2+8x-2)=33-2

\lim_{x\to 3}(x^2+8x-2)=31

Therefore, the correct option is D.
