Answer:

4/675

Step-by-step explanation:

There can be 90  two-digit numbers ranging from 10 to 99. There will be

90 x 90= 8100 possibilities of randomly selecting and combining 2 entire two-digit numbers, if we find ax b to be distinct from bx a. When 10 is first chosen, there may be 9 two-digit numbers that could be combined within the required range for a product When 11 is chosen first, then the second two-digit number has 9 possibilities. 12 has seven options; 13 has six options; 14 has five options; 15 has four options; 16 has three options; 17 has two options; 18 has 2 options; and 19 has one option. It provides us 48 total choices so the likelihood that the combination of two randomly chosen two-digit whole numbers is one of theses  these possibilities is thus 48/8100 = 4/675.

Jamie used the distributive property to find the product of s(t) and h(t). His work was marked incorrect. Identify Jamie's mista
SSSSS [86.1K]

Complete Question:

Jamie used the distributive property to find the product of s(t) and h(t). His work was marked incorrect. Identify Jamie's mistake. What advice would you give Jamie to avoid this mistake in the future?

s(t)•h(t)= (3x-4)(2x-8)

= 6x² - 24x -8x - 32

= 6x² - 32x - 32

Answer:

Jamie made a mistake in his second line (6x² - 24x -8x - 32), by wrongly multiplying the operation signs. The last term should be +32, not -32.

Advice: Jamie should take note of the rule that applies when multiplying signs.

Step-by-step Explanation::

To find out where exactly Jamie made mistake, let's find the product of the given functions, step by step:

s(t)•h(t)= (3x-4)(2x-8)

Using distributive property, do the following:

3x(2x - 8) -4(2x - 8)

3x*2x -3x*8 -4*2x -4*-8

6x^2  - 24x - 8x + 32 (this is where Jamie made mistake. -4 * -8 = +32. NOT -32.)

Add like terms

6x^2  - 32x + 32

Jamie made a mistake in multiplying negative × negative. The last term in "6x² - 24x -8x - 32", should be +32. Negative × negative = +.

Therefore, it is advisable for Jamie to always take note of the rule that applies when multiplying signs.

Help, For each equation, use guess-check-and-improve to approximate a
Contact [7]

Answer:

B) 6

Step-by-step explanation:

3(6) + 8 = 26

18 + 8 = 26

26 = 26

I don't know that method they are referring to. Seems pointless.

Typically, you would just set that equation up like:

3n + 8 = 26

    - 8      -8

3n = 18

3n/3 = 18/3

n = 6

Please help me with these two questions. And can you tell me how to do this! Thanks you
Vaselesa [24]
(X-10)(X-10) You need to first multiply out the brackets. So, first times X by X, which makes x^2 . Then do -10 x -10 which makes 100. You then need to multiply the X within the first bracket with the minus 10 in the second bracket which makes -10x. Do the same but with the -10 from the first bracket and the X from the second which again makes -10x. So altogether you have x^2-10x-10x+100. This can be simplified down to x^2-20x+100. You then do the same thing for the second question :)
