Use substitution to solve the equation. Replace x in the first equation with 2y then follow procedures to find.
-4(2y) +11y = 15
-8y + 11y = 15
3y = 15
y=5
Then, replace in the first equation your answer of y (y= 5) in the equation and solve to find x.
-4x + 11(5) = 15
-4x + 55 = 15
-4x = -40
x= 10
Your answer is (10,5)

Hello

-4x + 11y = 15
x = 2y

Ok, we need to solve x = 2y for x
Lets start by substitute 2y for x in -4x + 11y = 15
-4x + 11y = 15
-4(2y) + 11y = 15
-8y + 11y = 15
3y = 15
Divide both sides by 3
3y/3 = 15/3
Y = 5

Again, substitute 5 for y in x= 2y
x = 2y
x = 2(5)
x = 10

Final answer : X = 10 and y = 5

Good luck!

Solve the inequality.<br> 4│x + 5│ - 2 ≤ 10
castortr0y [4]

Step-by-step explanation: To solve this absolute value inequality,

our goal is to get the absolute value by itself on one side of the inequality.

So start by adding 2 to both sides and we have 4|x + 5| ≤ 12.

Now divide both sides by 3 and we have |x + 5| ≤ 3.

Now the the absolute value is isolated, we can split this up.

The first inequality will look exactly like the one

we have right now except for the absolute value.

For the second one, we flip the sign and change the 3 to a negative.

So we have x + 5 ≤ 3 or x + 5 ≥ -3.

Solving each inequality from here, we have x ≤ -2 or x ≥ -8.

Please help! i'm confused!<br> Find the area of a kites with diagonals 9in and 12in.
kolbaska11 [484]
Notice the picture
the rhombus, or kite, is really just 4 triangles
all sides are the same lenght in a rhombus,

thus, find the area of all of the triangles,
and you already have two sides given,
and then, add them up

or just find the length of one, and multiply times 4 :)

recall, area of a triangle = 1/2 bh

Which of the following points could be the initial point of vector v if it has a magnitude of 10 an the terminal point (-1,5)?
Eddi Din [679]
Let the initial point of the vector be (x,y). Then the magnitude of the vector v can be written as:

|v|= \sqrt{ (-1-x)^{2} + (5-y)^{2} }

The magnitude of vecor v is given to be 10. So we can write:

10= \sqrt{ (-1-x)^{2} + (5-y)^{2} } \\ \\ 100=(-1-x)^{2} + (5-y)^{2}

Now from the given options, we have to check which one satisfies the above equation. That point will be the initial point of the vector.

The point in option d, satisfies the equation.

100=(-1+7)^{2} +(5+3)^{2}  \\  \\ &#10;100=36+64 \\  \\ &#10;100=100

Thus, the answer to this question is option D
