The question is a little vague but I believe the answer would be 16. 16 divided in half is 8. And that is 8 less than 16. < Not the answer for this question.

1/2 of x is 2/3 of x minus 8

(1/2)x = (2/3)x -8

clear fraction by multiplying by 6

3x = 4x -48

x = 48
