Answer:

B. The Compromise of 1850

Explanation:

The compromise act of 1850 got great admiration from historians as it settle the some of the keen issue regarding territory, slavery and boundary.

Further explanation:

The conflict of free states with slave states following the war of America with Mexico was solved by the compromise act of 1850. The process was long and complex. But it finally solved the dispute of boundary of Texas and the question of slavery among the United States of America.

The annexation of Texas by the Americans in 1845 and its unsettled territories later created problems. Secondly, the question of Newly acquired territory during the Mexican American war created further questions about its territorial acquisition by the states and slave mode of production. The prevalence of slavery in Texas made it a hot topic among the national camps supporting slavery and rejecting it. The claims of Mexico's overall territories of east and north of Rio Grande further created problems.

Clay proposed a set of bills before Congress that could settle the newly created problems but then president Zachary Taylor declined it. After the death of Taylor these bills were again presented by Douglas and new president Fillmore approved it. It was a five-set of different bills and they came to be known as Clay's Compromise or The compromise of 1950.

Under the compromise, the people of the new states would decide whether they want slavery or not. Secondly, Texas surrender New Mexico and other territories in exchange for the federal exemption of Texas's public debt. California emerged as a free state and the accumulation of the new territories into New Mexican region and Utah territory. It also banned slavery in the region of Washington D.C

Therefore the compromise of 1850 was a major breakthrough in the history of the United States of America which settled keen issues. However, we should keep in mind that the issue of slavery was settled for the time being and that postponed the American Civil war.

skad [1K]

Wingina was the the principal chief the Secotan indians during Sir Walter Raleigh's two expeditions to America in 1585 and 1586

Wingina had friendly relationship with the expeditioners but relations turned sour when the English both exploited and subjugated the Indians taking advantage of their superior weaponry and the natives' superstitions.

Pemisapan (as Wingina was later known as) and his men planned several schemes to throw off the English yoke of oppression, but efforts were in vain and culminated in tribe being wiped out and the decapitation of Wingina himself.
