If one were to look at the reproductive tract of a female, you'll notice between the ovaries and Fallopian Tubes, there is a lack of continuity and closure, which means that sperm cells can and will actually just go out into the pelvic cavity. Ectopic pregnancies, medical emergencies which are characterized pregnancies where the fetus begin developing in elsewhere than in the uterus, and happens often in the Fallopian tubes. believe it or not some of these pregnancies develop outside the tract entirely.
