Cancer or other malignant neoplasms which are cancerous growth of tissues that spread from one tissue to another can affect more than one tissue directly.

CHF or Congestive Heart Failure which starts from dysfunctional heart muscle, originating from a heart attack for example, can cause build up of edema in other tissues depending on which side the dead tissue is on, the lungs if on the left side, the rest of body if on the right side.
