Answer:

The given statement is True.

Explanation:

In the short run, fixed costs remain the same. There are only variable costs that are incurring and changing the costs incurred in the manufacturing of the products. So a company should accept the special orders as long as the rice of the order is greater than the variable cost incurred in the production of that order. For example, if there is a bakery which bakes cakes. They have their fixed cost of baking oven, the Chef, electricity, etc. They usually bakes sponge cakes. So if they receive the order of Chocolate cake, they can easily get this order because the fixed costs are same, and there will be a slight difference in the making of chocolate cake that can be covered in the price of the cake. So as long as the variable costs of the product is less than the order price, the company should continue producing the special orders.

Gre4nikov [31]

Answer and Explanation:

The computation is shown below:

a. The receivables Turnover Ratio and Inventory Turnover Ratio is

receivables Turnover Ratio is

= Net credit sales ÷ average account receivable

= $86,000 ÷ ($6,500 + $6,900) ÷ 2

= $86,000 ÷ $6700

= 12.84 times

Inventory turnover ratio is

= Cost of goods sold  ÷ average account receivable

= ($86,000 × (1 - 49.8%) ÷ ($7,280 +  $7,300) ÷ 2

= $43,172 ÷ $7,290

= 5.92 times

b. The average days to collect receivables and inventory is

For receivables

= 365 ÷ 12.84 times

= 28.43 days

For inventory

= 365 ÷ 5.92

= 61.66 days

2. With sufficient detail, Discuss how materiality and risk are related and integrated into the audit
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

Audit Risk and Materiality

These two concepts have an inverse relationship.  When the materiality level is set low, the audit risk envisaged by the auditor is on the high side.  When the materiality level is set high, the audit risk as perceived by the auditor is on the low side.

But, what exactly is materiality?  Materiality refers to the basis that can change or influence the judgment of a reasonable person arising from a quantitative and qualitative omission or misstatement of a fact.  And audit risk refers to the risk of material misstatement in the financial statements presented by a company.

Explanation:

The risk of material misstatement in the financial statements is the reason that professional auditors design their audit procedures to reduce the audit risk to an acceptably low level.  This implies that auditors gather more audit evidence when the materiality is set to a low level, showing that audit risk has increased and vice versa.

adoni [48]

Answer:

12%

Explanation:

The computation of the accounting rate of return is shown below:

Accounting rate of return = Average profit ÷ Average investment

where

Average profit is

= $1,500 × 5 years ÷ 5 years

= $1,500

And, the average investment is

= $25,000 ÷ 2

= $12,500

So, the accounting rate of return is

= $1,500 ÷ $12,500

= 12%

We simply applied the applied formula
