A liquid sample from a black oil reservoir had a volume of 227.0 cc in a laboratory cell at reservoir temperature and bubble-poi

nt pressure. The liquid was expelled through laboratory equipment which is the equivalent of the field separator-stock tank system. The oil volume collected in the stock tank was 167.4 cc. The separator produced 0.537 scf of gas, and the stock tank produced 0.059 scf of gas. Calculate the formation volume factor of the oil and the solution gas-oil ratio.

Answer:

Formation volume factor  = 1.36

The solution gas-oil ratio = 0.00356

Explanation:

Given Data;

Volume of oil reservoir = 227.0 cc

Volume of oil in the tank = 167.4 cc

Separator production = 0.537 scf

Stock tank production = 0.059 scf

formation volume factor of the oil =?

The solution gas-oil ratio = ?

1. Formation volume factor is calculated using the formula;

Formation volume factor = volume of oil reservoir/volume of oil stock tank

Substituting, we have

Formation volume factor = 227.0/ 167.4

                                          = 1.36

2. The solution gas-oil ratio can be calculated using the formula;

The solution gas-oil ratio= total gas in scf/volume of stock tank

                                         = (0.537 + 0.059)/167.4

                                         = 0.596/167.4

                                        =0.00356

Refer to the Chemical Compounds table above. How many total elements are in<br> Ethanol?
Korolek [52]

Answer:

3 element i.e carbon (C), hydrogen (H) and oxygen.

Explanation:

The following data were obtained from the question:

Subtance >>>>>>>> Chemical Formula

Glucose >>>>>>>>> C₆H₁₂O₆

Methane >>>>>>>> CH₄

Ethanol >>>>>>>>> C₂H₅OH

Hydrogen peroxide >> H₂O₂

From the above table, we can see that ethanol (C₂H₅OH) contains carbon (C), hydrogen (H) and oxygen

Therefore, the total number of elements present in ethanol, C₂H₅OH is 3.
