Answer:  The sketching method of the given graph is shown in the below explanation.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given function, f(x) = 4(1/2)^x  -------(1)

Since it is an exponential function.( because it is the type of y = a.b^x)

here, the horizontal asymptote, y=0

And, it having x intercept (0,4)

But it does not have any y- intercept.

Also, it is a decreasing function because here b<1.

Now, we can draw it with help of putting some values of x in equation (1)

For x= 1, y= 2 and x=2, y=1

for x=-1, y=8  and, x=-2, y= 16

Thus points are (1,2), (2,1), (-1,8) and (-2,16).

Use a graphing calculator to determine the linear, quadratic, or exponential equation that best represents the data. For linear
Sav [38]

The linear equation that best represents the data is given by:

y = 1.35x - 2.11.

<h3>Why is the data best represented by a linear equation?</h3>

We have to consider two things:

  • The data increases over the entire interval, not having changes in the behavior related to increasing/decreasing, hence a quadratic equation would not be a good representation for the data.
  • The increase is best followed by a constant, especially for higher values, and not by a multiplier, hence a linear function is selected over an exponential function.

<h3>How to find the equation of linear regression using a calculator?</h3>

To find the equation, we need to insert the points (x,y) in the calculator.

For this problem, the points are given as follows:

(1, 0.2), (2, 0.4), (3, 1.1), (4, 2.3), (5, 5.1), (6, 6.3), (7, 7.5).

Inserting these points into the calculator, the equation is given by:

y = 1.35x - 2.11.

During a four-week period, you worked the following hours: Week 1- 363 /8 hr; Week 2- 411 /4 hr; Week 3- 401 /2 hr; Week 4- 383
Dafna11 [192]
The average number of hours can be calculated using the following rule:
average number of hours = total number of hours / total number of weeks

total number of hours = 36 3/8 + 41 1/4 + 40 1/2 + 38 3/8 = 313/2 hours
total number of weeks = 4 weeks

Average number of hours per week = (313/2) / (4) = 39 1/8 hour

Based on the above calculations, the correct answer is:
C. 39 1/8 hour
